popular films

I was in the mood to write up a post about literary magazines, short stories and various things of that ilk, even took a photo the other day to go with it. However, I notice a few of the folk participating in #blogjune are currently posting the number of films they’ve seen based on the IMDB’s top 100. I figured I may as well join in, along with Kelly, Kate, and Carol. Looking at the top 100, it’s important to note that it’s based on regular voters on the IMDB. I raise this because I think there’s probably quite a few films that don’t really belong on a top 100 list, especially as this one is dominated by english language movies. I recall a film reviewer in Chicago used to maintain an alternate list so I’ll see if I can track it down later.

Movies I’ve seen are in bold:

The Godfather (1972)
The Godfather: Part II (1974)

Not bad, though there are several of the remaining 19 that I should have seen but haven’t managed to yet. Yet at the same time, there’s so many movies missing that should be in a top 100.
